Interview with the Vampire Season 2 premieres soon (May 12; mark your calendars), but if you really can't wait to get in the mood, TV Guide spoke to the cast and creative team and got all the gory details about the second season for our spring digital cover story. As actor Sam Reid put it, "There's a level of campness that we didn't have in Season 1 that's coming to Season 2. And it's camp, Season 1, but we're going to a whole other level." Let our extended peek into all that's to come help hold you over for a bit longer.

There's still so much more ground to cover from Anne Rice's book series, and we'll update this post as we learn more. Here's everything we know about Interview with the Vampire Season 2 so far.

Interview with the Vampire Season 2 trailers and clips

Every community has its own set of rules, and the vampire community is no exception. In the latest teaser for Interview with the Vampire Season 2, Santiago (Ben Daniels) rattles off the laws of being vampire, which include: "The dark gifts must never be given to children" and "No vampire may ever destroy another vampire." If you're watching this teaser, you probably already know who's violated both of those laws.

"I want to tell the real story," Louis (Jacob Anderson) claims in the second trailer for Season 2, released March 31. We'll find out how true that is when the second season premieres, but until then we can all pore over all this footage. From Lestat (Sam Reid) on stage to Claudia's (Delainey Hayles) induction into Armand's (Assad Zaman) coven, we've got plenty to theorize about.

On March 19, AMC released the first extended trailer for Season 2. The three and a half minute trailer is a mini epic in itself, giving us a look at everything from the addition of Armand into Louis and Daniel's interview to Lestat furiously eating paper to a brief appearance from a new character played by none other than Justin Kirk. And that's just scratching the surface.

A teaser trailer was previously released on Feb. 6. In it, Daniel poses the question everyone wants to know heading into Season 2: "What happened next?" The teaser also features an interesting exchange between Claudia and Louis, as she asks him to consider who he would be without her — and who he would have been without Lestat.

In October 2023, AMC dropped the first extended look at Season 2, which finds Louis and Claudia arriving in France alongside the Théâtre des Vampires troupe, led by Armand and Santiago.

In July 2023, AMC released the first teaser trailer for Season 2 at San Diego Comic-Con. In it, we get a look at the pivotal Paris chapter of Louis' life, where he and Claudia find themselves involved with the legendary Théâtre des Vampires.

Interview with the Vampire Season 2 release date

Interview with the Vampire Season 2 will premiere on Sunday, May 12 on AMC and AMC+.

Interview with the Vampire Season 2 cast

David Costabile will appear in Season 2 as a guest star, playing Leonard, a "seasoned TV personality." Costabile joins recurring guest stars Roxane Duran as Madeleine, an important figure in Claudia's life from Rice's book series, and Bally Gill as Real Rashid. (Fans will certainly remember that "Rashid" was the alias given to Armand in Season 1.) Justin Kirk will also appear in an undisclosed role.

Bailey Bass announced in March 2023 that she will not return as Claudia for Season 2, with Delainey Hayles set to replace her into the role. "Due to a variety of unforeseen circumstances I'm unable to return to Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire for the second season," Bass said. "Playing Claudia has been a dream role and an incredible ride. I wish Delainey the best of luck in taking over. I cannot wait to watch. I'm extremely appreciative of AMC, the producers, Jacob, Sam, the crew and, of course, the wonderful fans."

News of Bass' departure came after the announcement that Ben Daniels will join as a series regular in Season 2. Daniels is set to play Santiago, a member of the French Theatre des Vampires who grows suspicious of the Louis and Claudia. He joins returning players Jacob Anderson, Sam Reid, and Eric Bogosian. Expect Assad Zaman to play a bigger role in Season 2, now that we officially know his character's true identity as the vampire Armand, one of the most important figures from Rice's books.
